About the event

The Feeding the Future series will be delving into how food producers are going to have to adapt to meet the ever-growing food demand. According to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, global food production is going to need to increase 70% by 2050 to meet the demand of the predicted 9-billion population. This series will be looking into the different ways innovation is helping to sustainably feed the future.

Our second event in the series looks into insect protein, one of the more unknown types of food production. As the population grows, so does the demand for food and therefore feed for the livestock. In 2016 alone, livestock was fed more than 1 billion metric tonnes of feed and this requires a considerable amount of land and water, but could insects be the answer to a more efficient and sustainable feed supply? We talked to innovators in the sector to understand the possibilities of this industry.
